On October 25th I will be part of a panel discussion at the University of Pennsylvania (Jewish Studies Program). The topic is “The challenge of reading the Bible today: can the Bible be read both critically and religiously? Jewish, Catholic and Protestant perspectives.”
Marc Brettler of Brandies University will present a Jewish perspective and Dan Harrington of Boston College will be presenting a Catholic perspective. I guess that leaves me to present the Protestant perspective.
The time is not yet set, but I believe it is late afternoon. Each of us will be given about 15 minutes to make some comments, followed by dialogue between us and Q&A.
